Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • * The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • * Authors have read and applied the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • * I have uploaded the following documents with the manuscript:
    1. A separate document clearly listing author details including:
    - Title
    -First name
    - Email address
    - ORCID number
    - Affiliation
    - Country
    2. Proof of professional editing - Manuscripts that have not been professionally edited, will not be considered for review.
    3. Ethical clearance certificate submitted, if applicable.
    4. Statistical clearance letter / certificate from statistician, if applicable.
    5. Information on who the copyright holder is, in the case the article is based on a dissertation or thesis.
    6. Report indicating a similarity index of less than 15% e.g. Turnitin
  • * I have clearly acknowledged that AI tools have been used in the creation of your work by providing a general acknowledgement within the body or methods section of your text to indicate that an AI tool was used. Include the following detail:
    • How you used the AI tool including the prompt used
    • The date you used the tool
    • The name, creator and version of the AI tool.
    I have NOT referenced AI in the reference list.
  • * I have consulted and referenced only journals that appear on the South African DHET, Scopus, WoS, IBSS, Scielo SA, DOAJ, Norwegian lists of accredited journals. No unaccredited / predatory journals have been listed.
  • * I have included on-line identifiers (DOI numbers, identifiers or URLs for sources including journal articles, book chapters and books, legislation etc, in the reference list as live links using the prescribed format.
    - I have used only URLs from widely available academic research databases.
    - I have not used URLs from commercial and academic social networking sites (ASN) for researchers to share papers such as Researchgate, Academia.edu, Mendeley, My Science Work or Semantic Scholar.
