Abstract

Many "First World" countries, including an important component of the RSA, have difficulty developing adequate development (especially industrial development) to keep their economies healthy and to provide their people with jobs. Certainly the main reason for this is competition from the developing ("Third") world. The benefits offered by developing countries to prospective developers are profound:
• cheaper labor;
• less stringent safety, health and other urban planning regulations;
• the absence of trade unions; and
• the availability of raw materials.
