Developing the inter-metropolitan periphery

A brief overview of national and regional development policy is given. The widespread pattern of and the number of development points is being questioned: mainly in terms of timeframe, the limited human resources and the current urbanization trends. Proposals regarding an alternative planning approach and strategy for the development of industrial growth poles in inter-metropolitan areas are made.
