Abstract

Lazlo Passemiers’ Decolonisation and Regional Geopolitics: South Africa and the “Congo Crisis”, 1960-1965, examines South Africa’s relationship with the Congo, and the crisis that engulfed the latter between 1960 and 1965. Always alive to the local, regional, continental and international geopolitical factors, Passemiers explores a series of factors that shaped South Africa’s policy and posture as Congo’s La pagaille, unfolded over five short but intense years
