Abstract

The Cabinet of South Africa presides over an annual budget in excess of R180 billion, a Police Force of 120 000 officers, a Defence Force of 80 000 soldiers, and a National Public Service of about 80 000 officials. It manages the macro economic policies of an economy with a gross domestic product of around R650 billion per year.
