Abstract

This paper discusses the version of the Syriac Apocryphal Psalms in the important manuscript 12t4. This manuscript is the only Psalm manuscript containing apocryphal psalms. The Psalms in this manuscript reflect a unique tradition in comparison with the other Syriac manuscripts, the Greek version of Psalm 151 and the Hebrew versions of Psalms 151, 154 and 155 in the Psalm scroll of the eleventh cave of Qumran. this manuscript also contains a number of important corrections in the text, as well as marginal notes. The corrections and notes agree often, but not always, with the readings of the other Syriac manuscripts. Although the version in 12t4 is often closer to the Hebrew and Greek than the other Syriac manuscripts, the manuscript does contain unique readings not related to the text of Psalm 151 in the LXX or to Psalms 151, 154 and 155 from Qumran.
