Abstract

With the announcement of the National Physical Development Plan for the Republic, the importance of fixed areas for research, planning and project implementation has become very clear. The way in which statistics can be gathered and made available in meaningful terms and the way in which regional awareness and interdependence of industries can contribute to an integrated development pattern is also evident from the latest literature on South African planning.
