Abstract

This article indicates the need to link social with other valuations, and define the social impact assessment considering certain misconceptions about social impact assessment. A table showing possible data sources is followed by a proposed framework for determining land use impacts. This framework indicates which land use information is required for the preparation of impact reports, subdivided into land use activities, improvements, land use economy and land ownership systems and controls. Approaches and methods for determining land use packages are discussed briefly. Finally, a model is proposed that forms the framework for presenting impact analysis, followed by a hypothetical example and a conclusion.
