In the September 1985 issue of the Journal the intention to devote this year's September issue to 'learned papers': the procedure to be followed and submission date were noted. May I again draw the attention of my colleagues at the universities to this arrangement, as to date the response appears to be rather weak. In addition the previous slow but steady stream of papers emanating from practitioners appears, possibly in anticipation of the aforementioned, to be running dry.
