About the Journal

Acta Theologica is an accredited South African journal publishing independently reviewed research articles.  We follow a sophisticated (multi-phased) peer-review process to accept only articles generating new knowledge of a high impact on the three publics of theology, namely the academia, church and society. Our reviewers are productive on both the South African and the international academic scene. Dialogue across borders – with non-theological disciplines, or within the theological encyclopedia, and/or other religions – is especially encouraged, as well as epistemic innovation with specific public theological relevance and interdisciplinary resourcefulness. Acta Theologica aims to publish articles that are imaginative, socially relevant, and intentionally redefining boundaries. Only articles in English are published in the two regular editions in June and December. Occasional monographs or longer contributions are also published in a concurrent series of Supplementa.
